    Description

    Pre-WWI M1874 French Gras Bayonet with Scabbard. Ricasso is marked with two French stamps, one is an "M" in a circle and an "S" with a star above it, the spine has French script on it including "St. Etienne 1875". The quillion area has three more marks. The underside of the crossguard has a "3", "7", an "F" and an anchor stamp, the front of the crossguard has "F 23554" and "175" on it. The groove has a couple more illegible marks. The blade is unsharpened, no nicks on the blade edge, and has some small minor age spots. Push button is functional.
    The scabbard has "N 10221" on the backside of the hanger mount and the ball finial has what looks like a "V".
    The scabbard is solid with no dents/dings. Length of the blade measures 20 7/16" (13/16" wide x 7/16" thick spine), length of the bayonet is 25 3/8", and overall in the scabbard it is 25 7/8".
    Muzzle hole opening is 11/16".
