Description

Restored Sheaffer
VERY GOOD Pastel Green Snorkel White Dot Clipper Fine Point
Length capped - 5 1/2"
Point - Fine
This pastel green Clipper is in very good condition, the one fault being a slight ding in the peak of the cap, just visible in the next-to-last photo. I've reduced the price to account for the flaw.
Sheaffer's White Dot Clipper features a stainless steel cap with gold-filled trim and a palladium silver Triumph nib (80% palladium, 20% silver). Palladium silver is precious metal that Sheaffer began using in 1933 for the masks on premium gold nibs because of its excellent ink-flow properties. Modern fountain pens with palladium silver nibs sell for about the same price as comparable models with 18k gold nibs.
Those who are attracted to gold nibs for gold's inherent value as a precious metal should be aware that while gold today sells for about 00 per ounce, palladium sells for about 00 per ounce.
I will include a photocopy of an original Sheaffer's Snorkel instructions leaflet.
All restorations include
disassembly, cleaning,
replacement of all seals and the sac,
smoothing and adjusting the nib,
refinishing the plastic, stainless steel, and gold-filled surfaces,
filling the pen with ink (not just dipping)
and producing multiple writing samples over 2 days (like the one in the photo).
I guarantee the pens I restore write smoothly and fill as designed.
Payment is expected within 3 days.
