    Description

    German Issued M1866 Chassepot Rifle.  27.5" overall with a blade length of 22.5" with a inside diameter socket of .720".  Very good condition showing some age patina, wear, use, blade is very sharp.  Blade is German stamped with Knights head which is Kirshbaum Co. in Solingen.  Opposite side has a shield with a "H" inside it.  The bayonet is devoid of any other markings.  Excellent working press-stud ejector.  No scabbard.  During the Prussian-Franco was many of these bayonets were taken by the Germans as war reparations.  Many were converted to fit the Prussian Carbine along with other variations.  See photos for further details, clarification, and condition.
