Up for auction is a WW1 French propaganda war poster. This poster was produced by Credit Lyonnais to raise money through the 4th National Loan
. The artist was Jules Faivre and depicts a French soldier pulling the French flag from the beak of the imperial German eagle. The poster is about 34" x 49 3/4" and has been professionally linen backed. The poster was originally torn and stained with tape residue. The tape residue is still visible as well as some small edge chipping.
